Ary Fun, North Charleston Plant Manager: Ary is a husband, father of 3 sons, and a certified arborist with 14 years in the tree care industry. He is also a three time Carolina state tree climbing champion, and a tree work instructor for North American Training Solutions. It was his love of learning, the enviroment, and a desire self-sufficient independence led him to the field of bio-diesel. He started by building an Appleseed reactor with beer brew master friend David Merritt. Making and using it in his own tree companies equipment gave him the practical experience of making and using it in real world applications. His now the plant manager at Southeast BioDiesel, where he is dedicated to producing the best quality fuel possible. Ary is always learning new and innovative techniques for biodiesel production or tree work with the goal of striving for a safer, more independent, and greener next generation.
Bill Smith, North Charleston Plant Technician: A native South Carolinian, Bill has long been interested in preserving the environment through the use of alternative energy. As his primary goal, Bill is dedicated to the encouragement and development of a paradigm shift away from the traditional fossil fuel based energy infrastructure to a more sustainable system that is both environmentally beneficial and domestically produced. Bill graduated from the Citadel in 1994 with a degree in psychology and later from USC with a degree in mechanical engineering. He has a wife and a three year old daughter who, in his words, act as the fulcrum upon which all of his inspiration pivots.

Ambergre Sloan, North Charleston Plant Office Assistant Ambergre first heard of biodiesel two years ago (a late bloomer) when an eco-obsessed friend wouldn't stop talking about it. As a 21st century tree-hugging hippie, she became interested, started researching the web and met a handful of knowledgeable bio experts. After her friend Anthony, who owns Independent BioFuels in NC, came for a visit to Charleston, she knew that biodiesel was something she really wanted to get involved in. Working at SEBD is an honor for Amber and she hopes to help in all departments. Amber owns a '99 VW Beetle TDI named Betty that has seen 50% of the US on biodiesel and plans to show her the other half soon.
